The California Lawyers Associa- tion (CLA), also known as the Association of California Trial Lawyers, is responsible for providing legal services to hundreds of thousands of people in California.CLA was founded in 1982 and is comprised of more than 400 lawyers from across the state of California.
Currently, the organization offers a wide variety of services to people across the country.
Its mission is to empower Californians to defend themselves against civil and criminal cases through legal representation.
As part of its mission, the association also serves as the largest legal aid organization in California and is the sole provider of public defender services to the State of California, with the sole mission of helping people in the state who have suffered losses in civil cases.CLA offers a variety of legal assistance programs to its members, ranging from the legal assistance provided by the California Bar Association (CBA), the state-mandated legal aid, and mediation.CLA also offers free, confidential and confidential legal counseling to people who may be facing a challenge to their civil or criminal legal rights.CLA members can also receive free representation in criminal and civil cases through the California Attorney General’s Office (AGO), a statewide legal aid program administered by the AG, which provides representation to more than 1.8 million clients in the criminal justice system.
The AGO also provides free representation for people with mental health issues and for people who are facing eviction or eviction assistance from their landlord.CLA operates in the following cities: Los Angeles, Pasadena, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Ventura, San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, San Leandro, San Luis Obispo, Oakland Hills, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
The California Attorney Generals Office (CAGO) is also a legal aid provider, with attorneys providing representation to people in civil, criminal and eviction cases.
The CAGO also administers the State Bar of California’s Legal Aid Program, which has a focus on assisting people who have been evicted, have been denied an eviction, or have experienced serious financial hardship due to a criminal charge.
The CA AGO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Its sole purpose is to serve the public interest through the delivery of free legal assistance.
