Lawyers who represent women are often accused of being “gender terrorists,” but they can still win big when they bring a gender discrimination lawsuit, according to a report from the Center for American Progress.
The report, titled “Women’s Lawyer and Gender Terrorism: A Guide for Women Lawyers and Gender Activists,” was released Wednesday.
It offers advice on how to sue and defend against gender discrimination cases in state and federal courts.
It also highlights some of the women’s attorneys who use their skills to help other women, and how they can use those skills to make a difference.
In a press release, the center said that “gender terrorism” is “a new and more potent form of legal discrimination, designed to intimidate and silence women.”
The report points out that the women who sue have a legal right to pursue gender discrimination lawsuits, and many do so successfully.
It also noted that some of these cases are often filed with the assistance of gender terrorism lawyers.
“This is an important report that highlights the unique and challenging legal skills that lawyers have in the fight for gender equality,” the center’s president and CEO, Jennifer Granick, said in a statement.
“We need to make sure that women who seek justice have the resources to get the results they want and deserve.”
